Advances in DNA research technology has made it affordable and available for genealogical purposes. As genealogist we have for the first time in history the ability to break down the proverbial “brick wall” and link family lines together through DNA. This is a terrific new tool for the serious genealogist and beginners alike.

   We can now determine which lines we are related to therefore being able to include or exclude a particular line from our research thus saving hundreds of hours of research time. However we still have to use our written records and proven lines to find and link a common ancestor. You are invited to participate in this exciting new project of discovery!

To Participate in the Ingle Surname DNA Project you must be a male with the INGLE or ENGLE surname or a male with a biological INGLE/ENGLE father. Only males may participate in this project because the male line is traced through the Y-DNA which is only passed from father to son. Women may participate by assisting in research, sponsoring a male relative to obtain DNA testing, or assisting in promoting the Ingle Surname DNA Project.
